How the peptide calculator works

Our peptide calculator does the reconstitution and dosing maths for you in three steps. First it converts the peptide in your vial and the BAC (bacteriostatic) water you add into a concentration in mg/mL. Then it divides your target dose by that concentration to get the draw volume in mL. Finally it converts that volume to units on a standard 1 mL / 100-unit insulin syringe so you can read the number straight off the barrel.
The same formula works for every lyophilised research peptide — BPC-157, TB-500, Retatrutide, Tirzepatide, CJC-1295, Ipamorelin, Semaglutide, GHK-Cu and more. Change the vial size, BAC water volume or dose and the syringe units update instantly.

Peptide dosage formula

  • Concentration (mg/mL) = vial mg ÷ BAC water mL
  • Volume to draw (mL) = target dose mg ÷ concentration mg/mL
  • Insulin syringe units = volume to draw (mL) × 100

Peptide calculator FAQ

What is a peptide calculator?

A peptide calculator converts a vial’s peptide mass and the amount of bacteriostatic (BAC) water you add into a concentration (mg/mL) and tells you exactly how many insulin-syringe units equal your target dose.

How do I calculate peptide dosage?

Divide the peptide amount in the vial (mg) by the volume of BAC water added (mL) to get the concentration in mg/mL. Divide your target dose (mg) by that concentration to get the volume to draw in mL, then multiply by 100 to convert to units on a standard 1 mL insulin syringe.

How much BAC water should I use to reconstitute a peptide?

Most researchers use 1–3 mL of bacteriostatic water per vial. More water gives an easier-to-measure draw for small doses; less water concentrates the peptide for larger doses. Enter your vial size and water volume above to see the resulting concentration and units per dose.

How many units is 0.25 mg of a peptide?

It depends on concentration. If you reconstitute a 10 mg vial with 1 mL BAC water (10 mg/mL), 0.25 mg = 0.025 mL = 2.5 units on a 1 mL / 100-unit insulin syringe. Use the calculator above for your exact vial.

Does this peptide calculator work for BPC-157, Retatrutide and GHK-Cu?

Yes. The math is the same for any peptide supplied as a lyophilised powder — BPC-157, TB-500, Retatrutide, Tirzepatide, CJC-1295, Ipamorelin, GHK-Cu, Semaglutide and others. Just enter the vial mg and your target dose.

Is this calculator for human use?

No. All products and tools on Iron Labs are strictly for in-vitro laboratory and research purposes within Canada. Not for human or animal consumption.
